Minneapolis, and the area around it (i.e. the Twin Cities) has a hot-summer humid continental climate zone (that’s Dfa in the Köppen climate classification), typical of southern parts of the Upper Midwest, and is situated in USDA plant hardiness zone 4b, with small enclaves of the city classified as being zone 5a.
